Filling Freezers with Love

April 15th, 2020

We’ve always loved our freezers, but now that love is a whole lot deeper. The world has changed so much in these past few weeks. While many people are stocking up, staying in, working from home and carrying on as best they can, there are many among us who are facing this crisis head-on. Essential workers and first responders are putting their own health at risk to continue to keep us safe, fed and cared for. It’s hard to keep shelves, fridges and freezers stocked when you’re on the frontline. So for those who continue to bravely put their lives at risk we want to help and express deep gratitude. In addition to our parent company’s million dollar donation to the food bank, last week in PEI, we thanked hospital workers at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown and the Prince County Hospital in Summerside by providing them with free Cavendish Farms product as they left work. We want to make it easy for hospital staff, doctors and nurses to grab what they need to bring home to their families when it’s safe to do so. We’ll stock them with Cavendish Farms products, and we invite other food partners across our communities to help fill the freezers with their love, too. We can’t wait to see where the next community support activity will take us!
