Islanders walk to raise money on the Coldest Night of the Year

February 20, 2021

Sarah Martin, Colleen Canfield, Alec Willyard, Erin Avery and Jay Willyard, five employees from Cavendish Farms New Annan, took part in the Coldest Night of the Year on February 20, 2021 along with 160 other participants. It is the second time Cavendish Farms sponsored employees during this national walk that raises money for charities serving those most in need in the community. This walk, during a cold winter’s night, demonstrates some of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness, hurt and hunger.

Funds raised from the walk in Charlottetown went to Harvest House Prince Edward Island. Harvest House PEI offers a variety of programs focused on helping Islanders transition from destructive lifestyles to healthier and more productive futures. They offer a variety of programs in life skills, work ethics, education and spiritual well-being.
